The 10 Best Stunt Scooters
Scooters have been around in some form since the early 1900s. Those old scooters don’t look (or ride) much like a modern version, but they are functionally similar.

As bicycles became more affordable, scooters declined in popularity, but scooter riding has made a comeback in the last fifteen years or so. So much so, in fact, that freestyle scootering is now becoming as much of a fad and sport as skateboarding.

Riding scooters are fun. There are a lot of thrills to be had freestyling on your scooter, but you’re not going to be able to do it with an ordinary scooter. They’re too heavy and aren’t balanced properly to perform tricks and stunts very well. Keep in mind that, while you can work with them, they’re not the best place to start if a rider wishes to improve their stunt skill level.

Freestyling enthusiasm has led to the development of scooters especially balanced for stunts. Known as stunt scooters (or trick scooters), these are lighter and more aerodynamic, enabling riders to perform stunts more easily and with greater dexterity. Because they are designed for freestyle, they are ideal for beginners who wish to learn the ropes of freestyle scootering and improve their riding skills. We include entry level scooters on our list.

Fortunately, stunt scooters aren’t very expensive, and you can get awesome ones for less than $200. If you want to get into freestyle scootering but don’t know what scooter to buy, you’ve come to the right place. We have reviewed several different freestyle scooter brands and models and shared our findings below to make your decision easier. Our list will stand out in the stunt scooter scene.

Things to Consider

1. Size

Pro scooter riders know that not all scooters are the same size because not all people are the same size. Make sure the scooter is large enough to support your weight. If you’re buying for a young adult, you won’t want a scooter that is too large. Stunt scooters aren’t that expensive. If you’re worried your child will outgrow a smaller scooter, hold off on buying an expensive one. You can always upgrade from beginner scooters as they age.

2. Material

Scooters can take a lot of punishment so metal matters. Most scooters will be made out of aluminum, as it is both durable and light. More expensive scooters might be constructed with steel. Not all aluminum and steel are made with the same grade. However, a higher grade of metal used in the scooter’s components means more durability. The material might or might not be tested by Team Razor pro riders, still, always check the quality.

3. Weight

One of the most important things in a stunt scooter (trick scooter) is that they don’t weigh too much. A heavy scooter will make it harder to perform stunts and tricks, totally defeating the purpose of buying a stunt scooter in the first place. The best trick scooters out there are lightweight.

4. Wheels

Some wheels perform better than others. High-quality wheels make the best scooters. Some are made of metal core wheels. For starters, try to buy a scooter that has well-designed wheels. Having good tires will also help, as you’re going to put a lot of strain on them with your stunts. Pro riders are meticulous on wheels.

5. Price

As with any products, more expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better so you want to be sure that you’re getting good value for your bucks. Sometimes you can end up paying for a brand name. Is there an entry level pro scooter? There’s a difference in price. The price of a scooter can be a good gauge by which to determine its quality, but don’t let that be your only determining factor. You should never break the bank by spending outside of your budget.

Best Stunt Scooters Under $100

Albott Pro Scooters Stunt Scooter

Albott Pro Scooters Stunt Scooter

Features

  • Weighs 7.3 pounds
  • Supports up to 200 pounds
  • High-grade steel

The Stunt Scooter is made of high-grade steel and features a 21.7-inch Y-bar with non-slip TPE grips. The durable ABEC-7 bearings 3.9-inch wheels are made of PU + PC and give you a soft feeling while riding. The 360°handlebar makes it easy to do some cool stunts.

Unfortunately, the Y-bar is fixed at 22.9 inches, so there’s no adjustment possible. You’ll want to make sure your child is the right height to get the most out of it. This best stunt scooter weighs 7.3 pounds, which may be too much for younger kids to use to do tricks.

What I really like is the custom components design. Scooters aren’t like bicycles, so you don’t have many options for a great deal of aesthetic customization with different parts. Mostly it’s about decals and graphics, and the deck has a pretty sweet design that should appeal to boys and teenagers. After all, who doesn’t love custom scooters?

Pros
  • 360°handlebar
  • Durable bearings
Cons
  • Handlebar and wheels become unaligned after some use

Dominator Bomber Pro Scooter

Dominator Bomber Pro Scooter

Features

  • Weighs 7.75 pounds
  • Can support up to 220 pounds
  • Smooth, comfortable ride

Looking for an entry level scooter? The Dominator Bomber is another beginner-to-intermediate stunt scooter. This one is quite sturdy and durable. Made with military-grade aluminum, these scooter decks will last a long time.

The wheels are the main issue here. Nylon wheels are best but these 100 mm wheels are made of plastic, so they are definitely less durable than the rest of the scooter. It’s not a huge deal, but I suspect a major crash or bad pothole could do a number on the wheels. Still, you can’t beat the price, and the performance is pretty good.

The bar is 20 inches tall and 20 inches wide, so it’s a little bigger than the X-3. The deck size is 19.5 x 4.4. The rubber grips on the bar are both soft and sturdy. These beginner stunt scooters can support a maximum weight of over 200 pounds.

Pros
  • Sturdy
  • Smooth ride
Cons
  • Not the best wheels

Fuzion X-3 Pro Scooter

Fuzion X-3 Pro Scooter

Features

  • Weighs 7.1 pounds
  • Can support up to 140 pounds
  • Comes in 4 different colors

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a scooter expert. I know how to ride one, but stunts aren’t exactly my specialty. I do know what goes into making a good stunt scooter, however, this is a basic starter scooter. It’s inexpensive, which makes it a great choice to gain some experience for people who are just starting out.

It has a 20 x 4-inch aluminum deck and 18-inch handlebars with hand grips. However, its wheels are made out of ABS polymer, which is not the best. These wheels will wear out over time and against tough surfaces. So, advanced riders must be careful.

It weighs seven pounds, but cannot support over 140 pounds of weight, so this scooter isn’t really suitable for adults. I wasn’t able to try it out for myself because I weigh 160 pounds. But for kids, this is a great budget scooter, and it comes in a variety of different colors.

Pros
  • Smooth, easy ride
  • Comes in 4 colors
Cons
  • Not sturdy enough
  • Grip tape peels off after some use

Madd Gear Carve Pro Stunt Scooter

Madd Gear Carve Pro Stunt Scooter

Features

  • Weighs 8.82 pounds
  • Supports up to 220 pounds
  • Colorful superhero themes

This scooter is a lot of fun, but it’s really designed for kids, and it’s heavy enough that professionals might want to think twice. It is one of the leading kids stunt scooters on the market. The main attraction for the Madd Gear Marvel Pro are the superhero designs painted on the metal.

Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and my personal favorite, Spider-Man are all available. As for the stunt scooter itself, it’s built with solid aluminum, but it’s also heavy – almost nine pounds.

This means that younger kids probably aren’t going to be able to do a lot of tricks. It is considered a great entry level scooter. The comic book-style art should really appeal to your son or daughter, but a teenager or adult will probably want something a little lighter. The brand also offers elite level stunt scooters for professionals.

Pros
  • Relaxed ride
  • Great for beginner and intermediate riders
Cons
  • Designed for kids
  • Heavy

Vokul K1 Pro Stunt Scooter

Vokul K1 Pro Stunt Scooter

Features

  • Weighs 9 pounds
  • Supports up to 220 pounds
  • Multiple materials

With K1 Pro Stunt Scooter, we’re starting to get into more serious territory with our scooters. This particular model is geared toward kids over 7, teens, and adults who are serious about stunting. This is one of the most trusted kids’ scooters.

There’s nothing flashy about the design, but that in itself is striking. Its somber metallic black color means business. The frame is a step above anything so far. The K1 frame is made of multiple materials.

The Chromoly steel handlebar is sturdy enough to withstand stronger stunts. It has noise-free brakes, a T-6061 aluminum deck, and a one-piece forged alloy fork. The wheels are still made from PU, but now they have ABEC-9 bearings which makes them a lot more durable. The wheels offer more comfort in your ride and the weight will give the scooter more stability. This is a pretty great scooter.

The handlebar is 24 x 22 inches and is wrapped in protective grips that are easy to hold on to. The deck is also coated with an anti-slip coating to reduce the risk of losing grip with your shoes, thus, providing you comfortable foot space. It also has a quiet brake to stop you if you get into trouble. This is a great scooter at a very reasonable price. Also, don’t forget to pre-check your unit before advanced riding.

Pros
  • Sturdy
  • Durable bearings
  • For pro rider
Cons
  • Not the best packaging

Fuzion Z250 Pro Scooters

Fuzion Z250 Pro Scooters

Features

  • Weighs 9 pounds
  • Supports up to 220 pounds
  • Multiple materials

The Fuzion Z250 design is a little more exciting than the Vokul K1: mostly black with a handful of red accents. Plus, you get to choose from 10 different colors. Awesome.

The scooter rides just as well as it looks. The tough aluminum deck and Chromoly steel handlebar are made with superior construction, designed to last you for years. The Z250 also has handlebar steel supports and hex grips, while the aluminum deck has a grip surface and high rebound 88a PU wheels.

This scooter has quiet responsive brakes on the back wheel, so it’s easy to step on it to stop. The wheels, which have 110 mm alloy cores, provide extra strength and durability. This is a great product that offers serious performance at a reasonable cost. We highly recommend this for the intermediate rider.

Pros
  • Sturdy
  • Well-made
  • Durable frame and bearings
Cons
  • Poor quality wheels

Xspec Complete Pro Stunt Kick Scooter

Xspec Complete Pro Stunt Kick Scooter

Features

  • Weighs 7.5 pounds
  • Supports up to 220 pounds
  • Multiple materials

The Pro Stunt Kick Scooter from Xspec has a special design. It has an oil slick color on the forks, wheels, and clamp, while the frame and the deck are matte black. It is made from multiple materials, all combined together to create a stunt scooter that will last.

The clamp is made of 6061 alloys and the frame is made of reinforced steel alloy. Their Bone’s model has a double clamp feature. In addition, there’s a non-slip surface on the deck, which ensures a solid grip. The 88a high rebound wheels give you a great ride with extra smoothness, while the ABEC-7 bearings make the scooter more stable during fast rides.

The Pro Stunt Kick Scooter is lightweight enough for children to carry it around when not doing tricks but sturdy enough to withstand a grown-up’s weight. The metal flex fender brake ensures to stop anytime. If you’re looking for a great stunt scooter, then this is for you.

Pros
  • Sturdy
  • Well-made
  • Lightweight
  • Durable frame and bearings

The deck measures 19 by 4.5 inches, and the bar measures 23 by 22 inches. The oil slick design on the wheels and below the clamp makes this scooter a real thought-out machine. The brand is the leading complete pro scooters manufacturer in the market.

Pros
  • Sturdy
  • Well-made

  • Aircraft grade aluminum deck

  • Issues with the handlebar

Lucky Prospect Complete Pro Stunt Scooter

Lucky Prospect Complete Pro Stunt Scooter

Features

  • Weighs 6.6 pounds
  • Supports up to 220 pounds
  • Multiple materials

Just like all Lucky Pro Scooters, the Prospect Complete Pro Stunt Scooter is in the higher price market, but the features definitely justify the price.

The deck, bar, and clamp are made of aircraft-grade aluminum, while the rest is made of durable alloy materials. It is lightweight as it is designed for intermediate riders. The Lunar HollowCore 110 mm wheels ensure a stable and secure ride, while the concave top deck gives you an easy ride. It is filled with artwork from the Northwest artist Shogo Ota.

The Prospect measures 19.5 by 4.5 inches, and the bar measures 24 by 23 inches. Pros
  • Sturdy
  • Well-made
  • Lightweight alloy deck
Cons
  • The clamp can break whilst tightening

Best Stunt Scooters Under $300

Envy Scooters KOS S6 Complete Scooter – Heist

Envy Scooters KOS S6 Complete Scooter - Heist

Features

  • Weighs 8.7 pounds
  • Supports up to 220 pounds
  • Multiple materials

Complete scooters are here! KOS S6 Complete Scooter from Envy is the most expensive on the list. We find an increase in wheel size to match the price increase, this time to 125 mm. Smooth polyurethane hollow core wheels provide better durability and more comfortable cruising.

One thing I liked about this stunt scooter is the aluminum deck with the 82.5-degree angle. It comes in really handy when you’re spinning around in various tricks. Moreover, the aluminum reaper bars are extremely durable and have a 26.5-inch height, meaning they will fit adults, as well. It also has an IHC compression system and envy scooter grips. Plus, rear fender brake in some models.

The KOS S6 comes only in one color, so you don’t have the option to choose which one you like best. The scooter is a little heavy at almost 9 pounds, which some folks might not like and it is probably too heavy to be a kid’s stunt scooter. But the bottom line is that it will definitely give you a fun ride and let you do the stunts you always wanted.

Pros
  • Sturdy
  • Well-made
  • IHC (Internal Hidden Compression System)
Cons
  • Issues with the clamp
  • Poor customer service

Conclusion

There are a lot of scooters on the market and everyone should be able to find one that meets their needs. Professional scooters or not, you should choose wisely. Of course, this is by no means a complete list of scooters, but they are some of the best on the market, and there’s something here to fit the need and budget of most scooter riders. Remember, there is no perfect scooter.

Whether you want an introductory scooter for your son or you are looking to hone your moves at the skate park, you are sure to find a great scooter on this list. There is no limit for entry level pro scooters. We could go on and on listing all the best scooters out there. However, be sure you do your research and read the reviews on any scooter before you make your purchase. Also, ask the manufacturers (or the company that is selling the scooter) any questions you may have before you order. Happy shopping!
